Way back in the mid 80’s it was a hard to get info on the latest electro & hip hop releases. Blues & Soul was probably the choice but then Morgan Khan played a blinder with the release of The Street Scene in November 1985. Sadly it only lasted for 25 issues, and every one was pure quality. Here is the very first Electro Talk page. I’ll scan them all up over the next few days and add them to flickr. More readable scan right here. Enjoy.

I am the proud owner of a complete set of street scene magazine…just re read them all ….and ..wow what an innovator Mr Khan was….years ahead of his time and a major contributer in making rap, hip hop et al accessible to all…it was the losses incurred by this mag that caused his bankcrupy and that is the biggest travesty of all..but like all geniuses Mr Khan had risen and hopefully people will look back and realise what a major force in bringing the music we love today to us years ago.
He tried to come back a few months ago with this Nu Electro thing, But the real heads in NYC here are having none of it, all produced by white techno kids, nothing to do with Hip Hop Electro like the old days…
Check out Frankie Bones Review on Discogs, he say’s the album isnt as good as the old days.
Stick to the real electro flava’s coming out of NYC underground
