Hip Hop At The Merry Go Round (1989)

Dug out this poster – it’s seen better days – but it is close to 21 years old so it’s had a good innings. It’s for an event at the Merry Go Round pub in Bury St Edmunds way back in 1989. Poster designed by Devine. The night featured DJ Underground, MC Epode (RIP) & Scott The Human Beat Box. Anyone got a photos of pieces by Devine? Think he came from the Stowmarket area.

Cortae – Short Term Memory Loss (The Rarest Easygroove Tune)

You’ll see this tune on various tracklists for Easygroove sets during 1993 (Dreamsacpe 7, Helter Skelter, etc) but you won’t find the tune in discogs or any online shop. It’s often mis-spelled as ‘Costae’ and also referred to as ‘S.A.D. Productions Vol. 1′ making it even more confusing. It’s actually by MC DJ Ribbs, Dave Tidy & DJ Dren. If anyone wants to sell me a copy, feel free to get in touch

East Side Posse – UK Old Skool Hip Hop

Many, many years ago (well, about 22 I think) I got myself a copy of this tape made by a group calling themselves East Side Posse. It’s been sat in my stash unplayed for many years now but whilst having a bit of spring clean today I discovered it once more. A quick search on Google throws up no info on these guys, so I’m guessing their efforts didn’t make it past the demo tape stage. They did do a few live appearances though and as luck would have it, …
